We only offer loans to those borrowers who have the capacity to repay them. This means we are dependent on you to provide us with correct and up-to-date details of your current financial position.
In addition, you need to ensure that you have enough funds in your bank account on the nominated loan payments dates, for us to withdraw from. Failure to do so might impact your ability to borrow from us in the future.
We hold an Australian Credit License (number 450321) registered by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC). We are committed to full compliance of the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009, which ensures we, as lenders, make reasonable enquiries about your financial situation and understand the reasons behind you wanting a loan from us. This means we need to be 100% sure we are lending our money to the right people.
The only fees we charge for each loan are visible at every stage of the application process. We aim to be as transparent as possible, and provide you with all the necessary information upfront regarding fees and charges (including late fees), so you can make the right choice about your loan.
We do not offer refinancing service of any kind. Refinancing is not something we encourage.

Yes, you can. As long as you receive a regular income and you meet our credit criteria.
As a responsible lender, we will carry out credit checking as part of our assessment but that doesn’t mean we will automatically decline anyone based on credit history alone. We will carefully review your recent history and your current capacity to repay the loan. We currently use Equifax (previously known as VEDA) as our 3rd party Credit Information provider.
At SpotMeNow we take our responsibilities as a lender very seriously and consider each applicant carefully based on their circumstances at the time of applying. Therefore, we will not approve any application which has a current unpaid default or any more serious matters such as Court Actions or Bankruptcies.
Yes, we need you to provide us with your latest payslip. The payslip can easily be uploaded during our registration process.
We will also require access to your bank statement, obtained through automated process whereby, our system is integrated with the major banks. This process allows for your bank statement to be uploaded seamlessly.
Most of the time our fully automated system will provide you with a decision on your loan application in no time at all.
However, there may be times when we need to consider your application in more detail to help us be certain of our final decision. When this happens, we’ll let you know the outcome as quickly as we can.
Once approved, your loan will usually be transferred straight into your bank account within the next few hours during normal business day AEST and on the first available business day if approved outside business hours. However, this will also depend on whom you bank with.
If we have declined your loan application you can reapply after 2 months.
Recent legislation from the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 requires us to review at least your last 90 days’ worth of bank statements. It allows us to make reasonable enquiries to better determine whether a loan through SpotMeNow is right for you.
This is done automatically through a secure link to a company called Illion. They will ask you to input your online banking details so that a summary of your most recent bank statements can be retrieved.
Illion is a 100% owned and operated Australian company. They specialize in retrieving details of consumer bank account transactions through their protected portal. Summaries of these details are then sent to credit lenders like SpotMeNow, who use this information as part of their enquiries into potential borrowers
Your bank account details are very secure when using the Illion system.
We are only permitted read-only access to the information provided to us by Illion, which means we cannot change or even view your banking details, and definitely cannot make any transactions on your behalf.
The online banking details you key into our website are encrypted, which means no one will ever gain access to your Internet banking password.
No, you cannot. The only way for you to provide us access to your bank transactions is through our online portal. Just let our fully automated system do all the hard work for you, in our safe and secure environment.

Yes, you do. If for a particular payment, your bank declines your direct debit, we will charge you a $10 dishonour fee (you may also incur an additional dishonour fee from your bank). This can be avoided if you let us know of any potential missed payments at least 24 hours in advance on a business day.

You can check your loan details at any time of the day by logging onto your member’s dashboard from our website.
All loans are repaid using automatic direct debit instructions that collect money straight from your bank account.
These instructions are setup according to the repayment schedule confirmed at the loan setup stage and will be debited from the same account that your wages goes into. You need to ensure that you have sufficient funds in your bank account on the days that the repayments are due.
As a reminder, we’ll send through an SMS reminder to your mobile the day before payments are due to be debited from your account.
Yes, you can. At SpotMeNow, we appreciate the hard work that goes into repaying a loan. As a result, SpotMeNow will forego any monthly fee’s if you chose to pay your loan early.
Just let us know at least 48 hours before your next scheduled repayment date by sending an email to email@example.com and we can let you know the final amount then arrange for a final direct debit instruction to be issued to your bank.
Yes, given we agree with the new dates. You can change your repayment schedule with us at any time, as long as we have at least 24 hours notice from your next scheduled repayment date.
If you know there is a good chance that a repayment is going to fail, please contact us immediately via our online chat (only during business hours) or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss your options and potentially reschedule your next payments (please note that we require at least 24 hours notice from your next scheduled repayment date in order for us to do this).

If, however, we are unable to recover money owed to us and close your account, we may pass your account over to an external collections agency and may take legal action. Should this happen, we might list a default on your credit file, which could remain for up to 5 years.
Financial hardship is when a customer is willing but unable to meet their debt obligations. This could be because of unexpected events such as changes to employment status, illness or other unforeseen changes that affects a person’s ability to make loan repayments on time.
Unfortunately, there are times when a person’s circumstances do change and they start to experience financial hardship. If this is happening to you and you need some advice to get your finances back in order, the government sponsored website www.moneysmart.gov.au is a great place to start.
However, if things are getting serious and you’re struggling to cope, we would strongly urge you to also contact an accredited financial advisor for professional advice.
Once your loan has been repaid in full and SpotMeNow has received the funds, you are more than welcome to apply for a new loan should you ever require our services again.
It is important to note however, that even though you have received a loan from us in the past, we are still required to make reasonable enquiries about your financial situation and understand the reasons behind you wanting another loan from us.

In order to best protect your SpotMeNow account, you need to make sure your password is unique and that no one else has access to it.
It’s better to not make your password too obvious. A combination of numbers and letters works best, particularly if you use both uppercase and lowercase letters together.
And remember, don’t share your password with anyone, not even with your family!
